Code Ann. § 44-38-620","heading":"Duties of the council.","body":"The South Carolina Brain Injury Leadership Council shall:\n(1) advise and make recommendations to the State on ways to improve services coordination regarding traumatic brain injury;\n(2) encourage citizen participation through the establishment of public hearings and other types of community outreach programs;\n(3) identify emerging issues and expand methods and resources to enhance statewide services;\n(4) serve as a resource for education, research, and training and provide information and referral services;\n(5) provide technical assistance for the development of support groups and other local initiatives to serve individuals, families, and caregivers;\n(6) consult with federal, state, and local government agencies and with citizens' groups and other private entities to recommend public policy concerning brain injuries to state policymakers; and\n(7) serve as the statewide advisory board for implementing the federal Traumatic Brain Injury Act and applying for federal traumatic brain injury funding.","path":["Title 44 - HEALTH","CHAPTER 38 Head and Spinal Cord Injuries","ARTICLE 6 South Carolina Brain Injury Leadership Council"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t44c038.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:32:44Z","sha256":"5f23888bcf38d97e55258eb750bdb98e26d19a654dccd450b646290eca7e14ff","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-38-610","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-38-630"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
