Code Ann. § 44-39-30","heading":"Powers and duties of board.","body":"The powers and duties of the Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina Board are to:\n(1) annually assess the effects of diabetes mellitus in South Carolina, and the status of education, clinical research, and translation of new diabetes treatment methods in South Carolina;\n(2) oversee all operations of the Center of Excellence Advisory Committees, and the Diabetes Outreach Council including:\n(a) reviewing annual reports;\n(b) establishing annual budgets;\n(c) setting annual priorities;\n(3) make annual budget requests to the General Assembly to support the activities of the Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina Board;\n(4) conduct diabetes surveillance activities including:\n(a) obtaining data and maintaining a statewide data base\n(b) analyzing data and reviewing trends on mortality and morbidity in diabetes;\n(c) developing means to and disseminating important data to professionals and the public;\n(d) developing proposals for grant funding.\n(5) submit an annual report to the Governor and the General Assembly;\n(6) other activities necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.","path":["Title 44 - HEALTH","CHAPTER 39 Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t44c039.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:32:49Z","sha256":"2b762bfe76ba9d9aa887b9aa9fe051d4e5ddf956fcf2deb42b4ca996fa8af58e","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-39-20","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-39-40"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
