Code Ann. § 44-53-1510","heading":"Definition of \"anabolic steroid\"; exceptions.","body":"(A) The term \"anabolic steroid\" includes any of the following or any isomer, ester, salt, or derivative of the following that acts in the same manner on the human body:\n(1) clostebol;\n(2) dehydrochlormethyltestosterone;\n(3) ethylestrenol;\n(4) fluoxymesterone;\n(5) mesterolone;\n(6) methandienone;\n(7) methandrostenolone;\n(8) methenolone;\n(9) methyltestosterone;\n(10) nandrolone;\n(11) norethandrolone;\n(12) oxandrolone;\n(13) oxymesterone;\n(14) oxymetholone;\n(15) stanozolol; and\n(16) testosterone.\n(B) Anabolic steroids that are expressly intended for administration through implants to cattle or other nonhuman species, and that are approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for this use, are not considered anabolic steroids as defined by this article and are not governed by its provisions.","path":["Title 44 - HEALTH","CHAPTER 53 Poisons, Drugs, and Other Controlled Substances","ARTICLE 14 Anabolic Steroids"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t44c053.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:33:34Z","sha256":"5fe16e3f216b61bec0e1d1342ca79244de5f37f63f0b0f34e62edc5e174885c6","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-53-1495","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-53-1520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
