Code Ann. § 44-53-350","heading":"Order forms for distribution of controlled substances.","body":"(a) Controlled substances in Schedules I and II shall be distributed by a registrant to another registrant only pursuant to an order form prescribed by the Department. Compliance with the provisions of Federal law respecting order forms shall be deemed compliance with this section.\n(b) Nothing contained in subsection (a) shall apply:\n(1) To the administering or dispensing of such substances to a patient by a practitioner in the course of his professional practice, however, such practitioner shall comply with the requirements of Section 44-53-340;\n(2) To the distribution or dispensing of such substances by a pharmacist to an ultimate user pursuant to a written prescription issued by a practitioner authorized to issue such prescription, however, such pharmacist shall comply with the requirements of Section 44-53-340.","path":["Title 44 - HEALTH","CHAPTER 53 Poisons, Drugs, and Other Controlled Substances","ARTICLE 3 Narcotics and Controlled Substances"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t44c053.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:33:34Z","sha256":"dfb55b994f7745246f56c0e6e105f3ad7ff724d9da52ec2398f31796410bf8c6","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-53-340","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-44-53-360"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
