Code Ann. § 5-31-2510","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For purposes of this article:\n(1) \"Licensed health care provider\" means a licensed medical doctor, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, or advanced-practice registered nurse.\n(2) \"Special needs account customer\" means the account of a residential customer:\n(a) when the customer can furnish to the municipality furnishing electricity or natural gas to its citizens a certificate on a form provided by the municipality and signed by a licensed health care provider that states that termination of electric or gas service would be dangerous to the health of the customer or a member of his household at the premises to which electric or natural gas service is rendered; or\n(b) who suffers from Alzheimer's disease or dementia as certified by a licensed health care provider.","path":["Title 5 - MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS","CHAPTER 31 Electricity, Water, Natural Gas and Sewerage Systems","ARTICLE 25 Termination of Electric and Natural Gas Service Due to Nonpayment"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t05c031.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:23:39Z","sha256":"d3b0d2cb6c28b7964f4455930280d663b7ab19cf72cb6d803978fb5eea7155c5","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-5-31-2340","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-5-31-2520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
