Code Ann. § 56-5-3150","heading":"Crossing at other than crosswalks.","body":"(a) Every pedestrian crossing a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.\n(b) Any pedestrian crossing a roadway at a point where a pedestrian tunnel or overhead pedestrian crossing has been provided shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.\n(c) Between adjacent intersections at which traffic-control signals are in operation pedestrians shall not cross at any place except in a marked crosswalk.\n(d) No pedestrian shall cross a roadway intersection diagonally unless authorized by official traffic-control devices and when authorized to cross diagonally pedestrians shall cross only in accordance with the official traffic-control devices pertaining to such crossing movements.","path":["Title 56 - MOTOR VEHICLES","CHAPTER 5 Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways","ARTICLE 25 Pedestrians; Rights and Duties"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t56c005.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:52:34Z","sha256":"f7ea572e111254563c9c96647228ef1b35dc50a2011821fc26370d6094524fce","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-56-5-3140","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-56-5-3160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
