Code Ann. § 57-27-55","heading":"Maintenance of screening.","body":"After a junkyard has been screened by the department pursuant to Section 57-27-50, the owner or operator of such junkyard shall adequately maintain the screening erected by the department. Maintenance shall be deemed inadequate if the screen installed by the department:\n(a) Deteriorates so as to no longer be of the quality or standard as when erected by the department;\n(b) Becomes ineffective as a screen, resulting in the junkyard being visible from the main-traveled way of the highway;\n(c) Falls into such disrepair as to endanger the health, safety or welfare of the community.\nAny owner of operator of a junkyard violating the provisions of this section shall be subject to the penalties provided in Section 57-27-80.","path":["Title 57 - HIGHWAYS, BRIDGES AND FERRIES","CHAPTER 27 Junkyard Control"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t57c027.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T07:55:29Z","sha256":"c888b08c3506ffb24ef4e63d2134bc0b4b256f5e0806c1fd3b110ddbc75b6e7a","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-57-27-50","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-57-27-57"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
