Code Ann. § 61-6-4060","heading":"Storage in place of business.","body":"(A) It is unlawful for a person to store or have in possession alcoholic liquors in his place of business other than a licensed liquor store. A place of business includes:\n(1) A place where goods, wares, or merchandise are sold, offered for sale, or distributed, and also places of amusement;\n(2) Residences and transportation vehicles when sale of merchandise is made therefrom; and\n(3) Outbuildings, warehouses, and garages when adjacent to or used in connection with a place of business where goods, wares, or merchandise are sold, offered for sale, or distributed.\n(B) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be punished as follows:\n(1) For a first offense, by a fine of two hundred dollars or imprisonment for sixty days;\n(2) For a second offense, by a fine of one thousand dollars or imprisonment for one year; and\n(3) For a third or subsequent offense, by a fine of two thousand dollars or imprisonment for two years.","path":["Title 61 - ALCOHOL AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES","CHAPTER 6 Alcoholic Beverage Control Act","ARTICLE 13 Offenses, Penalties, and Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t61c006.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T08:07:59Z","sha256":"93c0685f818a1d71f070f84e9c8ea4a0107b48cf0e43950aa6a2a55db17d2b55","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-61-6-4050","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-61-6-4070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
