Code Ann. § 61-6-4500","heading":"Municipal court jurisdiction.","body":"Municipal courts must try and determine all cases involving a violation of this article, except Section 61-6-4720, occurring within the limits of the municipality in cases where the penalties prescribed do not exceed a fine of one hundred dollars or imprisonment for thirty days. These courts have jurisdiction over these criminal cases the same as that had by magistrates, with the right and duty of sending these cases occurring within the municipal limits but beyond their jurisdiction to try to higher courts.
