Code Ann. § 63-15-640","heading":"Contents of petition.","body":"A petition under this article must be verified or supported by a sworn affidavit and include a copy of any existing child-custody determination, if available. The petition must specify the risk factors for abduction, including the relevant factors described in Section 63-15-650. Subject to Section 63-15-346(E), if reasonably ascertainable, the petition must contain:\n(1) the name, date of birth, and gender of the child;\n(2) the customary address and current physical location of the child;\n(3) the identity, customary address, and current physical location of the respondent;\n(4) a statement of whether a prior action to prevent abduction or domestic violence has been filed by a party or other individual or entity having custody of the child, and the date, location, and disposition of the action;\n(5) a statement of whether a party to the proceeding has been arrested for a crime related to domestic violence, stalking, or child abuse or neglect, and the date, location, and disposition of the case; and\n(6) any other information required to be submitted to the court for a child-custody determination under Section 63-15-346.","path":["Title 63 - SOUTH CAROLINA CHILDREN'S CODE","CHAPTER 15 Child Custody and Visitation","ARTICLE 6 Uniform Child Abduction Prevention Act"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t63c015.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T08:09:44Z","sha256":"e7f5f97d16992b9315776186e6f2969a3df48e0f5ab4c528e3fb27cf65939b6e","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-63-15-630","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-63-15-650"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
