Code Ann. § 8-13-130","heading":"Levying enforcement or administrative fees on persons in violation; use of fees and costs.","body":"The State Ethics Commission, Senate Ethics Committee, and House of Representatives Ethics Committee may levy an enforcement or administrative fee on a person who is found in violation, or who admits to a violation, pursuant to Title 2 or Title 8. The fee must be used to reimburse the commission, the appropriate legislative Ethics Committee, or combination thereof, for costs associated with the investigation and hearing of a violation. The costs associated include:\n(1) the investigator's time;\n(2) mileage, meals, and lodging;\n(3) the prosecutor's time;\n(4) the hearing panel's travel, per diem, and meals;\n(5) administrative time;\n(6) subpoena costs to include witness fees and mileage; and\n(7) miscellaneous costs such as postage and supplies.\nThese fees and costs are in addition to any fines as otherwise provided by law.","path":["Title 8 - PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES","CHAPTER 13 Ethics, Government Accountability, and Campaign Reform","ARTICLE 1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t08c013.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:28:14Z","sha256":"bbd140d4467ba54e23716891f992e76534192599114a1a1335950290caaa5359","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-8-13-120","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-8-13-140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
