Code Ann. § 8-13-1338","heading":"Persons prohibited from soliciting contributions.","body":"(A) The following persons personally may not solicit, verbally or in writing, a contribution to a candidate:\n(1) a law enforcement officer while in uniform;\n(2) a judge or candidate for judicial office;\n(3) a solicitor, an assistant solicitor, or an investigator in a solicitor's office;\n(4) the Attorney General, a deputy attorney general, an assistant attorney general, or an investigator in the Attorney General's office.\n(B) The restrictions of subsection (A) on solicitation of contributions do not apply to:\n(1) a candidate soliciting a contribution to his own campaign; or\n(2) a part-time assistant solicitor.\n(C) A law enforcement officer while in uniform may not solicit a contribution to any political party or candidate.","path":["Title 8 - PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES","CHAPTER 13 Ethics, Government Accountability, and Campaign Reform","ARTICLE 13 Campaign Practices"],"source_url":"https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t08c013.php","current_through":"2025 Session of the General Assembly","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T06:28:14Z","sha256":"31ffa1f20009d973bb60a6f2f40a6825a619633bbc41ea0240be8d2c5ad4f2c0","source_id":"us-sc","stale":false,"prev":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-8-13-1336","next":"us-sc/s.c.-code-ann.-8-13-1340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
