{"data":{"id":"us-sd/sdcl-3-12c-111","jurisdiction":"us-sd","citation":"SDCL § 3-12C-111","heading":"Terminated defined--Exceptions.","body":"For purposes of this chapter, \"terminated\" means a complete severance of employment from public service of any member by resignation or discharge and involves the following termination proceedings routinely followed by the member's participating unit:\n(a) Payment to the member for unused vacation leave;\n(b) Payment to the member for unused sick leave;\n(c) Payment to the member for severance of an employment contract;\n(d) Severance of employer-provided health insurance coverage;\n(e) Severance of employer-provided life insurance coverage; or\n(f) Severance of any other employer-provided perquisite of employment granted by the member's participating unit to an active employee.\nThe term does not mean a leave of absence, layoff, vacation leave, sick leave, or jury duty.","path":["TITLE 3.
