{"data":{"id":"us-sd/sdcl-46a-3c-1","jurisdiction":"us-sd","citation":"SDCL § 46A-3C-1","heading":"Petition for dissolution--Signatures--Election required.","body":"In order to dissolve a water development district, a petition of dissolution must be filed with the Board of Water and Natural Resources.\nThe petition must be:\n(1) Signed by eligible voters of the district, equal in number to at least fifteen percent of the votes cast in the district during the most recent gubernatorial election; and\n(2) Filed with the Board of Water and Natural Resources on or before the first Tuesday of July, immediately preceding the general election.\nUpon receipt of a petition in accordance with this section, the Board of Water and Natural Resources must refer the question to the voters of the district, at the next general election.\nSource: SL 1984 (SS), ch 1, § 24; SL 1990, ch 362, § 3; SL 1991, ch 17 (Ex.
