Code Ann. § 16-3-817","heading":"Goals of the integrated criminal justice system","body":"Any integrated criminal justice system developed through the facilitation of the committee shall:\n(1) Increase public safety and improve national security;\n(2) Minimize the threat and risk of injury to specific individuals;\n(3) Minimize the threat and risk of injury to law enforcement and other first responder personnel;\n(4) Minimize the threat and risk of damage to real or personal property;\n(5) Protect individual civil rights, civil liberties, privacy rights and other protected interests;\n(6) Protect the integrity of the criminal investigatory, criminal intelligence and justice system processes and information;\n(7) Minimize reluctance of individuals or groups to use or cooperate with the justice system;\n(8) Support the role of the justice system in society;\n(9) Promote governmental legitimacy and accountability;\n(10) Not unduly burden the ongoing business of the justice system; and\n(11) Make the most effective use of public resources allocated to justice agencies.","path":["TN Code","Title 16","Chapter 3"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"8cee8fd10547c1272cb124989f987e5ed505fc53e543d0348bdd00a66ec3345e","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-16-3-816","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-16-3-818"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
