Code Ann. § 20-4-206","heading":"Court to which changed - Special venire","body":"(a) The change of venue in a court of record shall be made to the nearest adjoining county free from the like exception, whether in the same judicial district or out of it.\n(b) Before a general sessions judge, it shall be made to the nearest judge of the court of general sessions of the same county free from like exceptions.\n(c) Upon an order for a special venire of jurors from a court other than the court of record, as authorized by § 20-4-201 , the jury selection shall be made from the nearest adjoining county free from the like exception, whether in the same judicial district or out of it.","path":["TN Code","Title 20","Chapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"1016aa40f8e6c270fecda5008a1380c3b45cc66406d3cbee0eb089c268b3d0b3","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-20-4-204","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-20-4-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
