Code Ann. § 29-13-301","heading":"Part definitions","body":"As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commission\" means the Tennessee claims commission created pursuant to § 9-8-301 ;\n(2) \"Criminal injuries compensation award\" means the compensation awarded pursuant to part 1 of this chapter;\n(3) \"Division\" means the division of claims and risk management created pursuant to § 9-8-401 ;\n(4) \"Guardian ad litem\" means a responsible adult appointed by the juvenile court to protect the rights and interests of the minor;\n(5) \"Juvenile court\" means the court having juvenile court jurisdiction in the county where the minor resides; and\n(6) \"Minor\" means any person who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age and who has not been otherwise emancipated.","path":["TN Code","Title 29","Chapter 13"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"0350c44e4c163455c08f030d95e6fde74a34560b46f736ef5c163fc6139f97ba","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-29-13-119","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-29-13-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
