Code Ann. § 3-14-101","heading":"Creation - Duties","body":"There is created an office of program evaluation within the general assembly which has the duty to:\n(1) Systematically evaluate, on an appropriate schedule, all programs conducted under the control or auspices of state government;\n(2) Evaluate programs of local government as directed by resolution of either house of the general assembly or by joint resolution;\n(3) Furnish to the members of the general assembly reports of the findings of its evaluative studies of state or local governmental programs, agencies, and departments;\n(4) Prepare, in conjunction with the office of legal services for the general assembly, and distribute legislation which would effectuate any statutory changes recommended in a report of an evaluative study;\n(5) Provide personnel to serve as committee staff or to assist the staff of any committee of either house of the general assembly which has program evaluation duties;\n(6) Assist committees and individual members of the general assembly in the evaluation of state and local governmental programs; and\n(7) Fulfill any other functions specified by law or assigned by any committee of the general assembly and approved by the appropriate speaker.","path":["TN Code","Title 3","Chapter 14"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"3986593a344d1a0c00fddf75c531b761f2f2f3f85d28b5519a701d8f1d824666","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-3-13-104","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-3-14-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
