Code Ann. § 3-6-206","heading":"Register of unpaid penalties - Effect of unpaid penalties","body":"(a) The Tennessee ethics commission shall maintain a register of all civil penalties imposed under this chapter and remaining unpaid.\n(b) If a civil penalty lawfully assessed and any lawfully assessed cost attendant to the penalty are not paid within thirty (30) days after the assessment becomes final, any candidate owing a civil penalty shall be ineligible to qualify for election to any state public office until the penalty and costs are paid.\n(c) If a civil penalty authorized by this section is imposed, it shall be considered a personal judgment against the person subject to the civil penalty.","path":["TN Code","Title 3","Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"8e252ba3baabfd48efe9747290fba93f5e2224f6081ac0d97605f4f9829388b7","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-3-6-205","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-3-6-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
