Code Ann. § 33-3-104","heading":"Persons who may consent to disclosure of confidential information","body":"Information about a service recipient that is confidential under § 33-3-103 may be disclosed with the consent of:\n(1) The service recipient who is sixteen (16) years of age or over;\n(2) The conservator of the service recipient;\n(3) The attorney in fact under a power of attorney who has the right to make disclosures under the power;\n(4) The parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian of a service recipient who is a child;\n(5) The service recipient's guardian ad litem for the purposes of the litigation in which the guardian ad litem serves;\n(6) The treatment review committee for a service recipient who has been involuntarily committed;\n(7) The executor, administrator or personal representative on behalf of a deceased service recipient;\n(8) The caregiver under title 34, chapter 6, part 3; or\n(9) An individual acting as an agent under the Tennessee Health Care Decisions Act, compiled in title 68, chapter 11, part 18 or a person's surrogate as designated under title 68, chapter 11, part 18.","path":["TN Code","Title 33","Chapter 3"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"cfd35f6f854d2772ab7d309c22144027119414a9067dfbea7673c161a59fb2dc","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-33-3-103","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-33-3-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
