Code Ann. § 36-5-2612","heading":"Recognition of order modified in another state","body":"If a child support order issued by a tribunal of this state is modified by a tribunal of another state which assumed jurisdiction pursuant to the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act, a tribunal of this state:\n(1) May enforce its order that was modified only as to arrears and interest accruing before the modification;\n(2) May provide appropriate relief for violations of its order which occurred before the effective date of the modification; and\n(3) Shall recognize the modifying order of the other state, upon registration, for the purpose of enforcement.","path":["TN Code","Title 36","Chapter 5"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"fef5e38a3498961289c7b4894558fc4e19c0c11803541bb1bb857dbc1aea33ce","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-36-5-2611","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-36-5-2613"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
