Code Ann. § 36-6-604","heading":"Actions for abduction prevention measures","body":"(a) A court on its own motion may order abduction prevention measures in a child-custody proceeding if the court finds that the evidence establishes a credible risk of abduction of the child.\n(b) A party to a child-custody determination or another individual or entity having a right under the law of this state or any other state to seek a child-custody determination for the child may file a petition seeking abduction prevention measures to protect the child under this part.\n(c) A prosecutor or public authority designated under § 36-6-239 may seek a warrant to take physical custody of a child under § 36-6-609 or other appropriate prevention measures.","path":["TN Code","Title 36","Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"5989c19641aca98190b564b4bcf016d9b579f359a0beaef87828aec6698b54b5","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-36-6-603","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-36-6-605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
