Code Ann. § 39-17-1320","heading":"Providing handguns to juveniles - Penalties","body":"(a) It is an offense for a person intentionally, knowingly or recklessly to provide a handgun with or without remuneration to any person that the person providing the handgun knows or has reason to believe is a juvenile in violation of § 39-17-1319 .\n(b) It is an offense for a parent or guardian intentionally, knowingly or recklessly to provide a handgun to a juvenile or permit a juvenile to possess a handgun, if the parent or guardian knows of a substantial risk that the juvenile will use a handgun to commit a felony.\n(c) Unlawfully providing or permitting a juvenile to possess a handgun in violation of subsection (a) is a Class A misdemeanor and in violation of subsection (b) is a Class D felony.","path":["TN Code","Title 39","Chapter 17"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"a55f067e3ca690c5158c68d03c4df71561fd5adc971766a1830265c8e3ae1ae7","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-39-17-1319","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-39-17-1321"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
