Code Ann. § 4-10-101","heading":"Legislative findings","body":"The general assembly finds and declares that there is a need for a permanent intergovernmental body to study and report on:\n(1) The current pattern of local governmental structure and its viability;\n(2) The powers and functions of local governments, including their fiscal powers;\n(3) The existing, necessary and desirable relationships between and among local governments and the state;\n(4) The existing, necessary and desirable allocation of state and local fiscal resources;\n(5) The existing, necessary and desirable roles of the state as the creator of the local governmental systems;\n(6) The special problems in interstate areas facing their general local governments, intrastate regional units, and areawide bodies, such studies where possible to be conducted in conjunction with those of a pertinent sister state commission; and\n(7) Any constitutional amendments and statutory enactments required to implement appropriate commission recommendations.","path":["TN Code","Title 4","Chapter 10"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"44ffde97192822ee01797be41a120a14b494b306321458d20173e9bf588e750d","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-49-9-901","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-4-10-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
