Code Ann. § 4-24-107","heading":"Powers","body":"The commission may:\n(1) Meet at such times and places in the state as may be needed, upon call of the chair or upon the request of five (5) members;\n(2) Contract with other agencies, public or private, or persons as it finds necessary for cooperation with city, county, state and federal agencies for training programs;\n(3) Make reasonable rules and regulations for the implementation of objectives established in this part;\n(4) Employ a director for the purpose of full implementation of this chapter;\n(5) Prepare a standard examination to test the levels of training and education of applicants for certification and establish a passing grade therefor;\n(6) Develop standards and programs for the administration and distribution of the educational incentive to eligible firefighters pursuant to part 2 of this chapter; and\n(7) Certify individuals who are not currently firefighters but who complete a commission approved recruit training program.","path":["TN Code","Title 4","Chapter 24"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"a6f8f5aef031c314dd22259d7260f1c5a793f43efe9ac85b094a9f87f5d9139c","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-4-24-106","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-4-24-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
