Code Ann. § 40-11-132","heading":"Exoneration of bail bondsman or surety by surrender of defendant","body":"At any time, the bail bondsman or surety may surrender the defendant in their exoneration or the defendant may personally surrender to the officer. Surrender by a bail bondsman or surety shall be for good cause including, but not limited to, the following:\n(1) The defendant has violated the contractual provisions between the defendant and the bondsman;\n(2) The bondsman or surety has good cause to believe the defendant will not appear as ordered by the court having jurisdiction;\n(3) A forfeit, conditional or final, has been rendered against the defendant;\n(4) The defendant has failed to appear in court either as ordered by the court or as commanded by any legal process; or\n(5) The defendant has been arrested while on bond.","path":["TN Code","Title 40","Chapter 11"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"72200d1c7f1eace929c2ad6399f8104d2ed775aa1da9690779be0dfdc0b2b491","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-40-11-131","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-40-11-133"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
