Code Ann. § 41-1-510","heading":"Participation in time reduction programs","body":"Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, all prisoners sentenced to the department of correction whose commitments are delayed pursuant to this part or pursuant to the order of a federal court, and who are being held by the county pending the commitment, may, at the discretion of the sheriff or superintendent, participate in appropriate academic, vocational and work-related programs that are available to persons sentenced to local jails or workhouses, and may be awarded time reduction credits as authorized by chapter 2 of this title for participation in the programs.","path":["TN Code","Title 41","Chapter 1"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"6fcf96bff316a4968fcf69d42ca92292b3602adccfbce8ed6f460feafd2df13f","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-41-1-509","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-41-1-601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
