Code Ann. § 43-32-212","heading":"Department of agriculture - Duties","body":"The department has the duty under this chapter to:\n(1) Collect and deposit all fees and assessments authorized under this part into the Tennessee grain indemnity fund for investment by the fund;\n(2) Transfer, at the discretion of the commissioner, any moneys from the department to the Tennessee grain indemnity fund for investment;\n(3) Subrogate all the rights of the claimant. The claimant shall assign all rights, title and interest in any judgment to the department;\n(4) Initiate any action it may deem necessary to compel the commodity dealer or warehouseman against whom an awarded claim arose to repay the Tennessee grain indemnity fund; and\n(5) Initiate any action it may deem necessary to compel the claimant whose claim arose due to a failure to participate in any legal proceeding in relation to that claim.","path":["TN Code","Title 43","Chapter 32"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"31abc4d7be8329d9741812879d0990d07f9b5258f9c2fec125da1aefa6bafb23","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-43-32-211","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-43-32-213"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
