Code Ann. § 43-34-103","heading":"Chapter definitions","body":"As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Agricultural district\" means those properties residing within a contiguous boundary and meeting appropriate criteria for designation as such by the local soil and water conservation district;\n(2) \"Agricultural production\" means those operations including associated land and facility management activities engaged in the commercial propagation, raising, harvesting and/or processing of any plant or animal or products thereof for purposes of consumption, utilization, goods, or service either on-site or for distribution;\n(3) \"Board of supervisors\" means the governing body of the local soil and water conservation district;\n(4) \"Farmland\" means land and associated facilities involved in agricultural production activities;\n(5) \"Ownership\" means any individual, family, company, corporation, or organization holding title to property within a proposed or established agricultural district;\n(6) \"Petition\" means the application and application process for designation of an agricultural district as submitted to the local soil and water conservation district;\n(7) \"Soil and water conservation district\" means that governmental body established by chapter 14, part 2, of this title; and\n(8) \"Tennessee soil and water conservation commission\" means that governmental body established by chapter 14, part 2, of this title.","path":["TN Code","Title 43","Chapter 34"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"5f6858cc387d400e5c2eb3059233dc7fedb1a7de4224d3a494bbcb2b6f848ae8","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-43-34-102","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-43-34-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
