The general assembly recognizes that financial service providers are in a unique position by conducting financial transactions on behalf of and at the request of their customers. Financial service providers have duties imposed by contract and duties imposed by both federal and state law to conduct financial transactions requested by their customers faithfully and timely in accordance with the customer's instructions. Further, financial service providers do not have a duty to contravene the valid instructions of their customers, nor to prevent criminal activity directed at their customers, and nothing in this part creates such a duty.","path":["TN Code","Title 45","Chapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"613e756cc62947fc8150b7377f5cd7c2aa44a6d7f3dbc7788a3cb354f44e8973","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-45-2-1205","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-45-2-1301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
