Code Ann. § 45-7-143","heading":"Orders","body":"If, after notice and an opportunity for a hearing, the commissioner finds that a person has violated this chapter or a rule promulgated in accordance with this chapter, the commissioner may order the person to:\n(1) Cease and desist violating the chapter or any rule promulgated in accordance with this chapter;\n(2) Refund, disburse, or disgorge any fees collected in violation of this chapter or a rule promulgated in accordance with this chapter;\n(3) Pay to the commissioner a civil penalty in an amount specified by the commissioner, not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each violation or, in the case of a continuing violation, one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each day that the violation continues; or\n(4) Pay the costs and expenses for the investigation and prosecution of the matter, including reasonable attorney's fees.","path":["TN Code","Title 45","Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"adf01cdf1be1563be2d081680d24b65e9dc5c5510154e354e4ff104cdc365c44","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-45-7-142","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-45-7-144"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
