Code Ann. § 54-20-104","heading":"Restrictions as to location along certain highways","body":"No person shall establish, operate, or maintain a junkyard, any portion of which is within one thousand feet (1,000') of the nearest edge of the right-of-way of any interstate or primary highway, except the following:\n(1) Those that are screened by natural objects, plantings, fences, or other appropriate means so as not to be visible from the main traveled way of the system, or otherwise removed from sight;\n(2) Those located within areas that are zoned for industrial use under authority of law;\n(3) Those located within unzoned industrial areas, which areas shall be determined from actual land uses and defined by regulations to be promulgated by the commissioner; and\n(4) Those that are not visible from the main traveled way of the system.","path":["TN Code","Title 54","Chapter 20"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"ebe6aac2c7b35fae2b7a2674a9db27fb50b8edb765fb099b3aa84392c494b64f","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-54-20-103","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-54-20-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
