Code Ann. § 55-4-137","heading":"Exemption from registration fee for certain veteran or active-duty service members","body":"Notwithstanding § 55-4-256 , § 55-4-257 , or any other provision of this chapter, a veteran or active-duty service member of the armed services is exempt from the regular registration fee prescribed under § 55-4-111 and any fee provided for in § 55-4-204(c)(1) for a motor vehicle sold, given, or donated to the veteran or service member if:\n(1) The veteran or service member has a service-connected disability as described in 38 U.S.C. § 3901 ;\n(2) The veteran or service member receives a grant from the United States department of veterans affairs, pursuant to 38 U.S.C. §§ 3901 - 3904 ; and\n(3) The grant is used to provide or assist in providing the vehicle to the veteran or service member.","path":["TN Code","Title 55","Chapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"f9bee0d6bdc393176948f47700e8dca38455507bb65c5fe84909cf664a47a3ce","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-4-136","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-4-138"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
