Code Ann. § 55-8-165","heading":"Obstruction of driver's view or interference with driver's control - Penalties","body":"(a) No person shall drive a vehicle when it is so loaded, or when there are in the front seat such a number of persons, exceeding four (4), as to obstruct the view of the driver to the front or sides of the vehicle or as to interfere with the driver's control over the driving mechanism of the vehicle.\n(b) No passenger in a vehicle or streetcar shall ride in a position that interferes with the driver's or operator's view ahead or to the sides, or that interferes with the driver's or operator's control over the driving mechanism of the vehicle or streetcar.\n(c) A violation of this section is a Class C misdemeanor.","path":["TN Code","Title 55","Chapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"75edddcd2311593bec786296f91a2b34fd3faf86b84685d72b98b2f328f73406","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-8-164","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-8-166"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
