Code Ann. § 55-8-182","heading":"Operation of motorcycles on laned roadways","body":"(a) All motorcycles are entitled to full use of a lane and no motor vehicle shall be driven in a manner that deprives any motorcycle of the full use of a lane. This subsection (a) shall not apply to motorcycles operated two (2) abreast in a single lane.\n(b) The operator of a motorcycle shall not overtake and pass in the same lane occupied by the vehicle being overtaken.\n(c) No person shall operate a motorcycle between lanes of traffic or between adjacent lines or rows of vehicles.\n(d) Motorcycles shall not be operated more than two (2) abreast in a single lane.\n(e) Motorcycles that are autocycles shall not be operated more than two (2) abreast in a single lane.\n(f) Subsections (b) and (c) shall not apply to police officers in the performance of their official duties.","path":["TN Code","Title 55","Chapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"e6b4a948bf36b781053b4933bc771a3292ea06537925f16c88f74f15c7b744e4","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-8-181","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-55-8-183"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
