Code Ann. § 56-45-107","heading":"Purchasing group and insurers subject to laws of this state - Exemptions","body":"A purchasing group and its insurer or insurers are subject to all applicable laws of this state, except that a purchasing group and its insurer or insurers are exempt, in regard to liability insurance for the purchasing group, from any law that would:\n(1) Prohibit the establishment of a purchasing group;\n(2) Make it unlawful for an insurer to provide or offer to provide insurance on a basis providing, to a purchasing group or its members, advantages based on their loss and expense experience not afforded to other persons with respect to rates, policy forms, coverages or other matters;\n(3) Prohibit a purchasing group or its members from purchasing insurance on a group basis described in subdivision (2);\n(4) Prohibit a purchasing group from obtaining insurance on a group basis because the group has not been in existence for a minimum period of time or because any member has not belonged to the group for a minimum period of time;\n(5) Require that a purchasing group have a minimum number of members, common ownership or affiliation, or certain legal form;\n(6) Require that a certain percentage of a purchasing group obtain insurance on a group basis;\n(7) Otherwise discriminate against a purchasing group or any of its members; or\n(8) Require that any insurance policy issued to a purchasing group or any of its members be countersigned by an insurance agent or broker residing in this state.","path":["TN Code","Title 56","Chapter 45"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"9a6942a92c509bc285b6713dab61c8ec8ff99d881854313ae39221cd741b2dda","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-45-106","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-45-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
