Code Ann. § 56-6-301","heading":"Charges on unpaid balances on premium payments - Time-price differential","body":"Insurance agents licensed in this state may charge, receive and collect on the principal balance of unpaid insurance and bond premiums a time-price differential not to exceed the rate now provided for retail merchants under the Retail Installment Sales Act, compiled in title 47, chapter 11:\n(1) On so much of the principal balance as does not exceed five hundred dollars ($500), ten dollars ($10.00) per one hundred dollars ($100) per year;\n(2) If the principal balance exceeds five hundred dollars ($500), but is less than five thousand dollars ($5,000), eight dollars ($8.00) per one hundred dollars ($100) per year on that portion over five hundred dollars ($500); and\n(3) If the principal balance exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000), six dollars ($6.00) per one hundred dollars ($100) per year on that portion over five thousand dollars ($5,000).","path":["TN Code","Title 56","Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"03114396e1ec14ac82839e986c824fbe86ac93a2cad1d45cce36474688859774","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-6-201","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-6-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
