Code Ann. § 56-7-2407","heading":"Nurse midwife services","body":"(a) Whenever any contract, plan, or policy of insurance issued in this state provides for reimbursement of any service that is within the lawful scope of practice of a nurse midwife, duly licensed by the state board of nursing as a registered nurse and also duly certified as a nurse midwife by the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the insured or other person entitled to benefits under the contract, plan, or policy shall be entitled to reimbursement for the services, whether the services are performed by a duly licensed physician or by a duly licensed and certified nurse midwife.\n(b) Reimbursements shall be made in a timely manner.\n(c) The provisions of this section relating to nurse midwife services shall apply to all contracts, plans, or policies issued or renewed on or after July 1, 1994.","path":["TN Code","Title 56","Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"b172bd63263716ac59f5838add87e77eac5a6af24725f2bd09c799e51fd09d08","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-7-2406","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-56-7-2408"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
