Code Ann. § 57-1-107","heading":"Chief law enforcement officer - Appointment - Qualifications - Travel expenses","body":"The commission is hereby authorized to appoint a chief law enforcement officer who shall serve at the pleasure of the commission. The chief law enforcement officer shall:\n(1) Be under the immediate supervision of the director;\n(2) Be at least thirty (30) years of age;\n(3) Have been a citizen and resident of this state for at least five (5) years prior to appointment;\n(4) Have had experience and training in law enforcement work and qualifications identical to that required for members of the Tennessee bureau of investigation; and\n(5) Be reimbursed for travel expenses in accordance with the comprehensive travel regulations as promulgated by the department of finance and administration and approved by the attorney general and reporter.","path":["TN Code","Title 57","Chapter 1"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"53b127e5796c722310a7484376aa28a722351aa27fe2b09e2aebfb1249796809","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-57-1-106","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-57-1-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
