Code Ann. § 58-9-104","heading":"Commission responsibilities","body":"The commission is responsible for all of the following in connection with earthquake hazard mitigation:\n(1) Setting goals and priorities in the public and private sectors;\n(2) Requesting appropriate state agencies, including the emergency management agency, to devise criteria to promote earthquake and disaster safety;\n(3) Recommending program changes to state agencies, local agencies and the private sector where the changes would improve earthquake hazards and reduction;\n(4) Reviewing the recovery and reconstruction efforts after damaging earthquakes;\n(5) Gathering, analyzing and disseminating information;\n(6) Encouraging research;\n(7) Helping to coordinate the earthquake safety activities of government at all levels; and\n(8) Establishing and maintaining necessary working relationships with any boards, commissions, departments and agencies or other public or private organizations.","path":["TN Code","Title 58","Chapter 9"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"861262b0b1e0116777f349a7128b3ff31d6f21a81e2252306e711bbf8a6f863a","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-58-9-103","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-58-9-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
