Code Ann. § 62-11-110","heading":"Penalties.","body":"(a) Any person, partnership, association or corporation who engages in or offers to engage in locksmithing services without a license, or who violates the terms and conditions of any licensure or license or renewal of any license granted by the commissioner pursuant to this chapter, shall be subject to a civil penalty of no more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per occurrence.\n(b) Any person, partnership, association or corporation who engages in or offers to engage in locksmithing services without a license, as required by this chapter, shall be ineligible to apply for a license until twelve (12) months after the violation occurred.\n(c) In addition to revocation or suspension of a license, a civil penalty of no more than two thousand five hundred ($2,500) may be assessed by the commissioner against any person, partnership, association, or corporation who violates any provision of this chapter, or any rule of the commissioner promulgated pursuant to this chapter.\n(d) (1) It is an offense for a person to knowingly engage in or offer to engage in locksmithing services if:\n(A) The services are rendered in exchange for compensation; and\n(B) The person does not have a valid license to do so.\n(2) A violation of this subsection (d) is a Class B misdemeanor.","path":["Title 62 Professions, Businesses and Trades","Chapter 11 Locksmith Licensing Act of 2006"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.tn.tca/release76.2021.05.21/gov.tn.tca.title.62.odt","current_through":"2021-05-21","vintage":"Tennessee Code Release 76 (2021-05), retrieved 2026-09-17; absent from the newer snapshot, which serves other sections of this chapter, so it may since have been repealed or amended","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:57:05Z","sha256":"28c745766d233f23e479560cce3c626611a88393c0a6547854e14e18e6435846","source_id":"us-tn","stale":true,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-62-11-109","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-62-11-111"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
