Code Ann. § 62-3-105","heading":"Acts constituting barbering","body":"Any one (1) or any combination of the following practices, when done for payment, directly or indirectly, or without payment, for the public generally, constitute the practice of barbering:\n(1) Shaving or trimming the beard;\n(2) Cutting or styling the hair;\n(3) Giving facial and scalp massages or treatments with oils, creams, lotions or other preparations either by hand or mechanical appliances;\n(4) Singeing, curling, shampooing, coloring, bleaching or straightening the hair or applying hair tonics;\n(5) Cutting, fitting, measuring and forming head caps for wigs or hair pieces;\n(6) Hair weaving, excluding medical or surgical procedures;\n(7) Applying cosmetic preparations, antiseptics, powders, oils, clays or lotions to scalp, face, neck or other parts of the body; or\n(8) Manicuring and nail care.","path":["TN Code","Title 62","Chapter 3"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"d1f5d6f1035a4828255172189e927f19464f2f784c88f61262f4b9898e9e4fef","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-62-3-104","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-62-3-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
