Code Ann. § 65-4-502","heading":"Unsolicited facsimile advertisements prohibited - Information required on transmissions","body":"(a) No person shall transmit or cause another person to transmit an unsolicited facsimile advertisement; provided, that a not-for-profit membership organization exempt from paying taxes under § 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code ( 26 U.S.C. § 501(c) ) is exempt from this subsection (a), if the facsimile is made by a bona fide member, volunteer, or direct employee of the organization to its current membership.\n(b) Any transmission by facsimile machine shall include in a margin at the top or bottom of each transmitted page or on the first page of the transmission the date and time of the transmission; an identification of the business, other entity, or individual sending the message; and the telephone number of the sending machine or of such business, other entity or individual.","path":["TN Code","Title 65","Chapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"82a3cab8b19444f6aca9d6c9d83002d02ca1f93f496b635cf8142b875154f8e4","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-65-4-501","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-65-4-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
