Code Ann. § 66-21-110","heading":"Tolling of limitations period for perfection or enforcement of liens against debtor in bankruptcy","body":"Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, if due to the filing of a bankruptcy petition under title 11 of the United States Code (11 U.S.C.), a creditor is stayed from filing the necessary documents to create or enforce a lien or security interest against the debtor's property, then any statute of limitations created or established by law for the perfection or enforcement of a lien or security interest shall be tolled until ninety (90) days after any of the following actions occur with respect to the filing of the bankruptcy petition:\n(1) The stay is lifted as to the creditor;\n(2) The case is discharged; or\n(3) The case is dismissed.","path":["TN Code","Title 66","Chapter 21"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"9e060f8d2298323d264081c7ee865655f9ccfc0376bc67621622d8850e332afb","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-21-109","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-21-111"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
