Code Ann. § 66-28-401","heading":"General maintenance and conduct obligations","body":"The tenant shall:\n(1) Comply with all obligations primarily imposed upon tenants by applicable provisions of building and housing codes materially affecting health and safety;\n(2) Keep that part of the premises that the tenant occupies and uses as clean and safe as the condition of the premises when the tenant took possession;\n(3) Dispose from the tenant's dwelling unit all ashes, rubbish, garbage, and other waste to the designated collection areas and into receptacles;\n(4) Not deliberately or negligently destroy, deface, damage, impair or remove any part of the premises or permit any person to do so; and shall not engage in any illegal conduct on the premises; and\n(5) Act and require other persons on the premises, with the tenant's or other occupants' consent, to act in a manner that will not disturb the neighbors' peaceful enjoyment of the premises.","path":["TN Code","Title 66","Chapter 28"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"84aa191566b2d46c87589b2a0737231c0d96030526eb18147a83101a8b73815e","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-28-305","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-28-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
