Code Ann. § 66-29-126","heading":"Retention of records by holder","body":"A holder required to file a report under § 66-29-123 shall retain records for ten (10) years after the later of the date the report was filed or the last date a timely report was due to be filed, unless a shorter period is prescribed by rule of the treasurer. A holder may satisfy the requirement to retain records under this section through an agent. The records must contain:\n(1) The information required to be included in the report;\n(2) The date, place, and nature of the circumstances that gave rise to the property right;\n(3) The amount or value of the property;\n(4) The last address of the apparent owner, if known to the holder; and\n(5) If the holder sells, issues, or provides to others for sale or issue in this state traveler's checks, money orders, or similar instruments, other than third-party bank checks, and on which the holder is directly liable a record of the instruments while they remain outstanding indicating the state and date of issuance.","path":["TN Code","Title 66","Chapter 29"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"315eb2c01069c0ffc3a3d3d11f472696aa4cce58eb29d2c2d177b87970906f00","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-29-125","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-66-29-127"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
