Code Ann. § 68-101-105","heading":"Gas storage tanks near railroad track prohibited — Exceptions.","body":"(a) It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, association or governmental agency to construct or cause to be constructed any liquefied petroleum gas, flammable gas or nonflammable compressed gas storage tank within two hundred feet (200') of any main line railroad track classified by the federal railroad administration as either Class III, IV, or V, and that has a speed limit of over thirty miles per hour (30 mph).\n(b) This section does not apply to:\n(1) Intra- or inter-plant trackage owned or leased by private manufacturing operations;\n(2) Railroad service tanks;\n(3) Storage tank facilities or sites in existence prior to July 1, 1980;\n(4) Storage tanks with a capacity of two thousand gallons (2,000 gal.) or less; or\n(5) Railroad yards.","path":["Title 68 Health, Safety and Environmental Protection","Chapter 101 Miscellaneous Safety and Environmental Regulations"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.tn.tca/release76.2021.05.21/gov.tn.tca.title.68.odt","current_through":"2021-05-21","vintage":"Tennessee Code Release 76 (2021-05), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:57:36Z","sha256":"d5a27fdf143d4d2e5d4955bb33edb4a56080a1ff1572ec74955a8b87a3e4d932","source_id":"us-tn","stale":true,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-101-104","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-101-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
