Code Ann. § 68-140-326","heading":"Color schemes for ambulances in certain jurisdictions.","body":"(a) Notwithstanding department of health rule 1200-12-1.02(3)(a)-(f), or any other provision of law to the contrary, any municipality, located within any county having a population of more than eight hundred thousand (800,000), according to the 2000 federal census or any subsequent federal census, that owns, operates or maintains ambulances as a part of the services provided by the municipality is authorized to select the color of its ambulances; provided, that the color scheme is the same as is used by the fire department in the municipality.\n(b) Subsection (a) shall also apply in any county having a metropolitan form of government and a population in excess of five hundred thousand (500,000), according to the 2000 federal census or any subsequent federal census.\n(c) Subsection (a) shall also apply in any county having a population of not less than one hundred fifty-three thousand (153,000) nor more than one hundred fifty-three thousand one hundred (153,100), according to the 2000 federal census or any subsequent federal census.","path":["Title 68 Health, Safety and Environmental Protection","Chapter 140 Emergency Services","Part 3 Emergency Medical Services Act of 1983"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.tn.tca/release76.2021.05.21/gov.tn.tca.title.68.odt","current_through":"2021-05-21","vintage":"Tennessee Code Release 76 (2021-05), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:57:36Z","sha256":"5c1b67ad900acd86967336b38c202d6af7aab70a1b419b6258bcd3b4501ba252","source_id":"us-tn","stale":true,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-140-325","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-140-327"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
