Code Ann. § 68-202-301","heading":"Part definitions","body":"The following definitions apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this part:\n(1) \"Commissioner\" refers to the commissioner of environment and conservation or the commissioner's designated representative;\n(2) \"Department\" refers to the department of environment and conservation;\n(3) \"Person\" means an individual, trust, firm, joint stock company, corporation (including a government corporation), partnership, association, state, municipality, commission, political subdivision of a state, any interstate body, any governmental agency of this state and any department, agency or instrumentality of the federal government;\n(4) \"Radiation\" includes all ionizing electromagnetic waves and corpuscular emissions such as, but not necessarily limited to, gamma rays and x-rays; alpha and beta particles; electrons, neutrons and protons; and other nuclear particles but not radio waves or visible, infrared or ultraviolet light; and\n(5) \"Radiation source\" includes material which emits radiation spontaneously, or apparatus which produces, or may produce when the associated controls are operated, one (1) or more forms of radiation.","path":["TN Code","Title 68","Chapter 202"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"479f10463086e99d82f0176cfe5eaaada6c5e4b3523c64058ec22352acbcca4a","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-202-217","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-68-202-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
