Code Ann. § 69-6-117","heading":"Alternative method for establishment of district - Procedure","body":"(a) As an alternative method for the establishment of a watershed district, any such district may be organized and established in the same manner as a levee and drainage district by the procedure set forth in chapter 5 of this title.\n(b) In event this alternative procedure is followed, it will not be necessary to file a petition with the Tennessee soil and water conservation commission, and chapter 5 of this title shall apply to the organization of the district.\n(c) Any watershed district that is organized by following the procedure prescribed by chapter 5 of this title has the same objectives and purposes and possesses the same powers as provided for in this chapter.","path":["TN Code","Title 69","Chapter 6"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_tn_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:26Z","sha256":"94a0da1f207d86db26159136895b616434b8d18163fd734315fc44ef2909c8ba","source_id":"us-tn","stale":false,"prev":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-69-6-116","next":"us-tn/tenn.-code-ann.-69-6-118"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
